Nigeria’s First Female Combat Pilot

Blessing Lima has become the first female combat pilot in Nigeria Air Force. She was decorated on 27 April together with her 29 male counterparts in a ceremony in Abuja.
Liman was decorated by the Minister of State for Defence, Mrs Olusola Obade, who stepped in for the Defence Minister, Dr. Haliru Bello.
The minister implored Lima to continue to be outstanding in carrying out her duties as she is part of a nigerian success story.
She added   "For the female pilot in your midst, as well as every woman serving in the Armed Forces of Nigeria, let me state that you represent independence, power, equal rights and obligations. I dare add that you are a significant part of the success story of Nigeria since the advent of the current democratic dispensation; I urge you therefore, to remain outstanding examples."
The minister revealed that Lima’s decoration is in accordance with the administration’s 35 percent affirmative action policy. ( what are they implying? Well we don’t mind)
He declared that protecting Nigeria and its citizens should be the responsibility of all military forces. Police cannot do it alone. He then called on all military forces to join hands in the fight against terrorism.
