Passenger Plane Crashes in Lagos

A passenger plane operated by DANA  Airline has crashed in the Iju area of Lagos, Nigeria.

The plane was on a local flight from Abuja to Lagos and was carrying 153 passengers. The plane was attempting to land when it slammed into Akande street of Toyin area in Iju Ishaga Lagos.

The passenger aircraft crashed into a powerline before smashing into two storey residential building. The impact of the crash left two houses beside the two storey building in fire immediately.


Rescue teams are now at the area. The narrow streets in the area made it difficult for the rescue teams to reach the crash-scene

The families and associates of the passengers broke down in tears as the news of the crash broke at the Murtala Muhammed Airport.

It is not yet clear how many people died or survived the crash at the time of this report.
