Pastor
David Oyedepo of the Living Faith
Christian Church International has been sued by a young woman he slapped during
a church service in December 2011.
Speaking on behalf of his client, Robert Igbinedion, a solicitor at Salus Populi Chambers said that the young lady will receive justice if she is wronged. He added that it was illegal and unconstitutional for the Man of God to call out his client and others as witches.
He is
therefore asking for ₦2 billion for damages done to his client.
He also
wants Bishop Oyedepo to make a public apology to his client in two national
newspapers and in one international satelite television station.
In
addition, Barrister Igbinedion wants the pastor to make a similar alter call
for bribe-giving contractors, corrupt government officials, drug dealers and
other sinners in his church.
(I see your
point here Sir. A case of selective judgment abi? Who gave us the right to
judge and condemn others by the way? )
To remind
you, A video in youtube showed Bishop Oyedepo last year December 2011 slap the
hell out of a young woman for claiming she was a “witch for Jesus.”
The video
caused a whole lot of outrage and condemnation from the public. What do you think
about this case?
